Happy Birthday!

Evan turned 3 this month and was very excited for his Lightning McQueen birthday cake. He was more excited about the car on the cake than actually eating the thing. Actually, that goes for me as well; as some of you already know, my siblings and I don't like cake. Evan loves opening his gifts. The card he is holding plays music when you open it. This apparently tickeled him and he tilted his head back and gave an evil laugh. I don't know where he gets all the random theatrics he does. (Aren't Becca's toes cute?)
Evan's got this obnoxiously bright BMX for his birthday. We couldn't believe he already fits on the 16" bike. He's totally pumped. I have to wear the proper shoes to keep up with him. Luckily, he fancies the safety gear as well. He actually wore the elbow and knee pads shopping that day. You can never be too safe.

Lions, and Monkeys, and....???? Poo?

We got a little excited and bought Halloween costumes at Old Navy today. Yes it is almost two months early, but they always sell out and we didn't want a "poo" (Brandon said that) costume the end of October. Plus this way they can dress up in them and play already. Well....maybe Kyle won't play in his, but we might dress him up. It's obvious he thinks he's dang cute in it. Not very ferocious though.

Evan already has the monkey thing down. Scratching his bum, throwing poo....well not throwing poo, at least not that we know of. He wore his costume out of the store today, and then through the mall. We got some funny looks, especially since we addressed him as "monkey" the entire trip. Whatever though, he's two.

John Deere

Evan likes to mow the lawn with Grandpa. Every time he hears it he runs out to "help" drive the mower. Grandpa decided to put him to work and get him his own tractor. He hasn't quite figured out how to make the nice mowing lines yet though. He prefers to try to spin the tires and switch from drive to reverse as fast as possible to try to give himself whiplash. It is a good thing there is no transmission or it would be shot already.
We need to work on watching the road. The Cat in the Hat about lost it on a curve. Thank goodness for seatbelts.
