Pumpkin Patch

Last week we took advantage of one of the nice days and headed out to the pumpkin patch. We were scheduled to go with Evan's preschool later in the week, but decided a family trip would be fun too. There were lots of pumpkins to choose from which had the boys thoroughly confused. They both wanted to find a clean one, but to no avail.
Eventually they found a few that weren't too dirty and decided we could take them home.
We took the pumpkins to the car then decided to pose for a few pictures and finally.....
We took all 3 kids through the 6 acre corn maze. We were told it could take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half, and they said if we got lost we could call them on a cell phone and they would rescue us. With that vote of confidence and a map we headed out (mostly because I have always wanted to do a corn maze).
Lucky for them I was amazing with the map and lucky for us the kids were troopers. Grace didn't cry, Kyle didn't demand to be carried til he fell 6 or 7 times (which took a while), and Evan walked the whole way. It took us about 45 minutes and I loved it.
One last stop for an attempt at a group photo and we were on our way home. Getting pictures of all 3 kids looking decent is tough, but we did all right.

2 Months

Grace is now two months and had her well baby checkup today. She is 24.75 inches, which is just a 1/4 inch shorter than Evan at this age and a full inch taller than Kyle was. She weighed in at 13lbs 2.4 oz (Evan 13lbs 15.9oz, Kyle 13lbs 9.2), so she measures up pretty well with her brothers. She is off the charts for height and 95th percentile for weight and head circumference. Way to go Grace!
Grace doesn't have the dexterity to pull the sunglasses off and she tolerated wearing them for a few photos. SO CUTE! Thanks for the glasses Jamie...sad that they already fit so well.In other news, Grace will be starting physical therapy to treat torticollis, which makes her head crooked due to a shortening of the neck muscles on one side. Gratefully, we've already been doing our own little exercises and seen some marked improvement so the treatment should be minimal.

Evan and Kyle also went for seasonal flu shots today and were totally tough guys. Not one tear shed on either count. After Evan came out with his lollipop, Kyle demanded, "I need a shot too!" Kyle doesn't want to miss out on ANYTHING that Evan is getting.

Grace's Blessing

Sunday we blessed Grace at church. Brandon gave her a beautiful blessing and after church we all came back to my parents' house for lunch. This is the group from my side of the family that was able to come. Somehow we never got one of Brandon's side of the family.

Not a great family shot ( I swear I'm thinner than this picture makes me look)...but Evan really didn't want to be taking pictures so we had to take what we could get.
All the men who were in the circle to bless Grace except the bishop and stake president. From the left my uncle Judd, Brandon's brother Doug, Brandon's dad, our soon to be brother-in-law Ben, Brandon, my uncle Jon, and my dad.
We need to iron her dress again and take more pictures of her with a better backdrop, but here she is after church. This is the dress my dad wore as well as me and all of my siblings so it was fun to get to put her in it too. I was afraid she wouldn't fit, and we couldn't button the top button in the back, but she made it. In my completely unbiased opinion she looks adorable in it.

Cider Mill and Smiles

Saturday Brandon really wanted a hot apple fritter so we went out to the cider mill. The wait for our fritters was about an hour and a half (they lost our order and I waited too long to check on that) but they were delicious. Luckily only one of us had to wait so we took turns taking the boys around to see the animals.
The boys really wanted their pictures taken in this cut out. Brandon took a bunch trying to get Kyle's head in the circle until Evan finally managed to hold him up high enough. I'm impressed he could lift him that high.
Grace starting smiling 2 or 3 weeks ago, but we are just now starting to get them on camera. If she sees the camera she gets too distracted looking at it and won't perform.
Kyle loves to let Grace borrow his blankets and today was so excited with his sharing he told me I should take a picture. Then he ran over and posed like this. Funny boy.
A big thank you to Jamie (and her mom) for this adorable sweater. Her mom made it and it is so cute and soft. I love the hood. Grace obviously felt pretty comfy in it sleeping.
I love the lips. This could be a future pouting face.

The best smile we've managed to get on camera yet.

To Tell The Truth

Last night while we were playing games Grace needed a diaper change. Kyle walked over to her and very seriously said "You stink baby Gracie." He even had a serious look on his face and looked at her like he thought she might be upset at the news or something. I had to write it down before I forgot because it was hilarious.
