Missed pictures

Here's a collection of pictures that somehow missed the blog

 Reptile man came to the school and the boys held his boa with their buddy Al.  Grace was home sick that night which was sad because she loves snakes.

 In April we finally pieced things together with Evan's teacher and realized he was having a lot of side effects from his epilepsy medicine.  We were emailing his doctor about things, and then he had a partial seizure one morning, and we ended up with an emergency appointment.  They did an urgent 24 hour EEG that afternoon.  Here he is with the electrodes all hooked up.

This was the cap and bag he had to wear for 24 hours.  I went to school with him to make sure he didn't scratch his head and knock anything loose.  We ended up finding out he was on the verge of a seizure all day long, and likely having absence seizures, all because his body wasn't reacting well to the med he was on. We started the process to switch him to another med right after this and things seem to have improved.  

 Evan reading with Kyle.  This was shortly after the med transition started and a great sign for us that things were getting better as he could focus on books for longer again.

 Finn being a trusty companion.  During the period where Evan was likely having absence seizures and was on the verge of a seizure all day, Finn always went to sleep with him.  He would go curl up in his legs while Evan went to sleep and stay there til we put him to bed.  He was even up all night in his kennel the night Evan had the partial seizure.  This pup can definitely tell when things are going on.  Since the med switch he is more of a bed hopper and snuggles up with a different kid each night.

 Love how we find this girl sleeping.  This was a day she woke up early and we told her to go back to bed.

 While Paige was up for a visit we tried out her curlers.  They were super easy and Grace loved the curls, but with her thick hair they sadly fell out pretty quick.

 Last day of school party with the neighbors.  My kids have some pretty awesome buddies living close by.

June

 Grace had her kindergarten performance the night before school got out.  It is crazy to me that she is the youngest, or one of the youngest in the grade, and she was still back row (bright yellow shirt).  She's a tall girl.

 Last day of school pic with Grandpa.  Poor Kyle was crushed school was out and cried for at least 20 minutes because he will have a new teacher next year.  She was fantastic and there were lots of kids from her class looking teary. Evan and Grace loved their teachers too, just not as much as Kyle I guess :)

 The week after school got out we did member's only night at the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa.

 They really liked the new jelly fish exhibit.

 The kids all learned to paddle board and love it now.  

 We also had a few evening fishing trips with Grandpa.  They were catching 20-30 fish in about 45 minutes.  Made for some fun school nights.

 I think this was Memorial Day weekend.  We went down to Oregon for Nathan's mission homecoming.  It was so fun to see him and to spend time with family.  I wish I had captured this picture earlier because it was so cute.  Alec walked Evan and Grace home from church and was holding hands with Grace.  Such a sweet big cousin.

After church that day we headed over to some of Dave and Nichole's friends for a luncheon.  The people raise pigs and Grace thought they were pretty fun.

Baptism Day

 Kyle has been looking forward to getting baptized since he turned 7.  He was counting down the days, and June 6th his big day finally arrived.  He was up early and ready to go.

 I got to sit in on his baptism interview, and I was impressed how much he knew about what he was doing, and why.  I know we've talked about it some, but his primary teachers have done a fantastic job.

 Kyle was super lucky to get so many family members there, and a friend from church who came and gave him the lei.  Papa and Grandma Sherry drove in from Idaho that morning.

 Both of his great-grandmas were able to come (Gramps was having a rough morning and was sad to miss it).

 Cousins!  We had Doug and Mel's kids there too but somehow missed them in the pictures.

 Grandma and Grandpa.  Grandpa had to conduct the meeting, and Kyle asked him to give the talk on Holy Ghost.  

We are so proud of him and the decision he made.  Grace kept saying now she is the only one in our family who needs to be baptized and is now counting down to her baptism.  It was a great day and one he will hopefully remember.

Dunk Tank and Play Dates

At the kids school they are given the option to "Walk Across America" at recess once a week.  They accumlate miles to help the school walk across the country, and based on their miles they could earn a throw at the end of the year dunk tank.  It would be fun at any school, but its especially fun for our kids since Grandpa always starts out the dunk tank.

 The week before school got out also happened to be the week Kyle's best buddy moved.  We have had so many fun days with Sawyer the past few years.  They did preschool together and have been buddies ever since. They were so great playing together, never fought, and most of the time you didn't even know the two of them were there.  This was their last play date.  I almost cried when his mom picked him up.  He (and the rest of his family) will be missed around here.
