Thirsty?

Kyle needed a drink this morning and asked for some milk. Then Evan decided to have lemonade, so Kyle asked for that too. This is him drinking both at the same time. Nasty.

Legos

The boys love Legos, and more specifically Lego men. We ordered them a bunch of new ones with various accessories. They arrived today. The boys are good to go for the rest of the night now.

7 Months

Okay, I'm late, but here is our 7 month old girl! We had a warm day today so we got out this super cute outfit that will probably be too small soon. This kid is growing like a weed.
Here is a more classic Grace face. She loves to stick her tongue out.
We think her teeth may be getting closer to coming in because lately she never puts her tongue in her mouth and she is drooling a ton. This face has pretty much been the norm for the past 2 weeks. Even strangers have started commenting on her tongue hanging out. Lets hope she outgrows this habit before she gets to kindergarten.

Steppin' On the Beach

If you are a Spongebob fan, then you probably know the song the title post comes from. Anyway, we had some really nice weather last week, and since we are trying to stay out of the house, we decided to go to the beach. The kids knew we were going to the beach, so when we got there they asked if we remembered their swimsuits. Apparently we don't go to the beach around here often enough. I love Kyle keeping his superheros a safe distance from the crab. He got braver and held it after he checked it out.
After seeing Kyle's bravery Evan decided to give it a try. We got to have a lesson on telling boy and girl crabs apart, barnacles, clams, oysters, and mussels. It reminded me of when I was little and my dad taught me all of this stuff.

After the beach we hiked back up and had a picnic. I think this is the first time we have used our actual picnic basket and the boys were so excited. They packed food in there as though we were going to be gone for days and I don't think eating pbj has ever been more fun.
After lunch, a little swinging.
Evan finally mastered pumping his legs for a prolonged period of time.
Grace's first time on the swings. She seemed to really enjoy it and sat in there forever. All in all a very fun day that we need to do again soon.

Burn Baby Burn

Want to know what our boys are so mesmerized by?
A house on fire of course. The fire department was doing a controlled burn/practice on a house nearby so we went and watched. We were there about an hour and the boys loved it. We finally left when there wasn't much house left.
It was kind of fun guessing which part of the house would collapse next. Even Brandon and I found it entertaining.

Kyle-isms

Another funny Kyle quote.
I went to change Kyle's diaper and upon opening it I said "Holy Cow." Kyle immediately responded in a very serious tone "I am not a cow."
I couldn't help but laugh.

Things to Remember

Just a few things the kids have said lately. First up, Evan. He is learning to read and likes spelling things, or at least attempting to. He was trying to spell my parents' dog's name, Leo. He asked if it started with a Y. We corrected him and said it was L-E-O. He responded in total shock "his name is Leo, not Yeo." All this time we thought he couldn't say his L's very well, but in reality he thought the dog's name really was Yeo. He says it right now.
Second we have Kyle, who tonight did a nose dive off the top bunk. Luckily only a slight bloody nose and skinned cheek to show for it. Anyway, he was asking me about the new house and going over what would be in it. We talked about he and Evan's room, the toy room, the kid bathroom, and then I mentioned that we would have a piano room. He paused and said "that would be nice" totally straight faced sounding just like an adult.Last up, Grace. She hasn't said anything funny, although the boys think her spit bubbles are hilarious. She had her 6 month check up today (2.5 weeks late) and the official stats were 20 lbs 1.4 oz, 29 inches, and 46.5 cm head circumference. Officially off the charts.(Yes, we torment our poor baby girl)

Update On Us

I know, long break in blogging. We've been sick (again) and I wasn't really taking pictures. So, here's the latest. We had colds for 2 weeks and couldn't leave the house. Then we got better for a few days, then we got pink eye and tonsillitis and Grace ended up with her first ear infection. Now we are pretty much all better. Lets hope it lasts this time.
With all of the sicknesses our sleep schedule has been really off. This is Grace and Kyle up at about 11pm one night.Sick but still very happy. I love the toothless grin.
We never thought we'd have a blue eyed baby, but it looks like Grace might just be. That gives us 3 different color schemes with hair and eyes for our kids.
Another fancy dress for Grace. Note her princess wand to control the house just a little more.
In big news, Grace finally learned to roll. She went from not rolling at all, to rolling front to back and back to front in both directions in one day. Luckily it was the day before her therapy appointment, and with that news and the fact that she is sitting up now, it looks like we will be done with therapy the end of this month. Yeah!!!
In other big news, after being locked in the house for 2 weeks with sick kids Brandon and I started doing some research. In one day we changed our plans for Brandon's future schooling and decided to put our house up for sale and buy a new, bigger one. So our house is now on the market and we have already put an offer in on a new one. It is one we will need to build, so it looks like we will be living with my parents for a while, but we are very excited to get some more space.
