Last week Kyle got what we thought was food poisoning. We lasted 6 days with nobody else getting sick, until yesterday. Grace woke up at 2 in the morning with full blown stomach flu. After 12 hours of not holding down anything, and us not being able to really keep her awake, we took her to the ER.

We realized she must be pretty sick since they got us in right away. She hated the entire process, even the little gown.

Of course once we were there she perked up some and started holding down fluids....until they gave her tylenol which she promptly puked up on me.
She lost over a pound yesterday before we took her in.

They decided she needed any iv which she hated. They had to swaddle her, which she has never liked. Luckily the nurse got it in on the first try, and he numbed her arm first so the only real trauma was the swaddling and strangers.

She hated the entire IV get up. Luckily she fell asleep and stayed that way through most of the 3 bags of fluids they gave her. Her blood work and urine analysis (courtesy of a catheter) came back a little off, and her pulse rate was crazy high (192 at one point) so they had to keep giving fluids.

Once she was hydrated she spiked a fever, which was why her pulse was so fast, so they gave her some tylenol, then gave it again since she puked, and as it kicked in her pulse came back to normal and we finally got to go home. All together we were there 7 hours running tests and getting fluids. Not how we wanted to spend our evening but we're glad she is feeling better. Today she still has a fever and is a bit wiped out, but she is walking around and talking again which is a huge improvement. Hopefully this will be the last time we have to go to the ER for a good long while.
