Maui Picture Overload

We spent 9 glorious days in Hawaii over Christmas break.  It was warm, relaxing,  and lots of family time which was awesome.  It was a rocky start, Evan got motion sick on the plane and Brandon lost his wallet (the airline found it thankfully), but after that it was great!
Evan was our only kid brave enough to put his feet in Bubba Gump's shoes this year.

We ate a LOT of shaved ice.  So delicious.  We even found out that our favorite shaved ice spot in Lahaina has another shop in Kihei.  That may not have been a great discovery because it only encouraged our addiction.

Grace ate most of her shaved ice only partially clothed.
Trip up the volcano, not as awesome.  Poor Ben had sinus problems and ended up puking at the top from the pain, and our motion sick kids kept threatening to puke the entire time.  We did it, but I don't want to do it again any time soon.
 Christmas Eve Gingerbread Men

We played lots with this cute girl.

I think this was Christmas Eve.  Santa came down to the beach, but we missed him.

 Traditional Banyan Tree Pics

We took pics just like these 3 years ago and I wanted to recreate them.  It is crazy what a difference 3 years makes.

 Christmas Eve program.
Grace was Mary and Kyle was Joseph.  Paige is all of the animals.
 Three wise men.
Flying monkeys for Christmas.  They scream when they fly which makes them extra exciting.

 Christmas Sunday

Surfing!  Evan got up on his knees, and Kyle coasted on his belly for a few waves.  Brandon and I both got up too.  I don't know how people surf for real, because it is exhausting.

Kyle spent a lot of time dancing on the shore.  He would dance up to the waves, then prance back as they came in.  He was in a world of his own and totally happy.

 The boys loved boogie boarding.
Grace and Kyle claimed to hate the sand, but then ended up like this every day.  They just didn't like washing the sand off of them.

We did a lot of snorkeling.  Evan has become a great snorkeler this trip which was fun.

Our "snowman."  Lots of people stopped to take pictures with it once it was completed.

Our condo complex had Santa come Christmas Eve, and then served free hot dogs and steak by the pool.  Total score there.
It was tough to leave, put on shoes and long pants again, and face the cold, but the time there was great.  We took a red eye home and ended up with empty seats next to us, so the kids all curled up and slept the whole way home.  I miss Maui already.

Glad you had such a good time. Nothing says Christmas like free hot dogs! Need to see you in person and do all kinds of catching up.
