Disneyland Rides

Last week we took the kids to Disneyland for the first time.  It was so fun!  The kids loved it, we loved it, and we are all excited to do it again.
Grace didn't love the noise in Astro Blasters, so she and Brandon did Astro Orbitors while the boys and I shot bad guys again.
The carousel was a big hit in both parks.  I think they liked King Triton's better because it was sea creatures, but those pics are still on my phone.

I love how intense they look.  So determined to get that sword out.
It's a Small World.  All 3 kids loved this ride so we did it many times.

Radiator Springs Racers - we didn't do the fast pass the first time and we should have, but the kids held up well through the line.  I love the backdrop they created for that ride.

 Love my look of terror
Heimlich's Chew Chew Train.  We thought it was dumb, but Kyle apparently enjoyed it and demanded we take my parents when they came for our last 2 days.
Can you tell she loved It's a Small World?

Toy Story Mania, yet another favorite.

My mom loves tea cup rides, so they all tried this one.  You couldn't make it spin so she was disappointed.  I think my kids were relieved.

Easter Picture Redo

I don't like how old Evan is looking.
Or how old this girl is getting.  I love that smile though.

Also love how squinty this boys eyes get when he smiles big.

Easter

I love that the boys still wanted matching vests.  I'm sure it won't last forever.

Not a great pic but I love Grace's pose.

I need to try these pics again so we don't have the sun spots in the photo (not something you ever worry about here), but Brandon did pretty well with these.
The kids were tired from a flashlight Easter egg hunt with the neighbors the night before, so they opted to do our hunt after church this year.  I love that they are so chill about this stuff.  I also love that Sam posed for this picture - we were puppy sitting last week.

The kids had a blast hunting, we ended up going nowhere for Easter and weren't prepared to have Easter dinner at our house, but we had a great relaxing day.  We talked about why we celebrate Easter and enjoyed some downtime as a family which was perfect.

Pinewood Derby

Yet another Cub Scout post.
This was Evan's first Pinewood Derby, and he was so excited.
He spent a lot of time with Brandon making his car, and it did really well til the last few races. One of the axles bent and all of the sudden his car was really slow.  He was a bit disappointed because it meant he took fourth place, and after Brandon fixed it he beat all of the cars in the random racing afterwards, but he still had a blast and it was good for him.
His fourth place trophy - our camera did not like the gym.
His car after lots of racing - he knocked the front corner off on something.  All of the boys cheered for Evan because he had the best looking car.  He has already started researching next years design and I'm sure it will look fabulous too (he's lucky his mom doesn't have to help with the decorating).

Evan's Photography

Evan earned a bunch of belt loops for Cub Scouts last month.  He earned the Pet Care belt loop taking care of the Guinea Pigs and making a big poster about them.  The computer belt loop printing things to make his poster, and the photography belt loop learning about cameras and taking pictures.  Here are some of his latest photos.
Buttercup - this was for his poster
Cinnamon - again for the poster
The guinea pigs cage in his room
Apparently he then decided all pets should get a picture - this is the cage for Cheese and Sprinkles in Kyle's room (Kyle named them).

 Penny's cage in Grace's room
Kyle showing off some Valentine's candy I think - which he still has 2 months later.
Random photos of Brandon and I

This is our new art display in the toy room.  The kids get to display a lot more of their creations this way, and the fridge doesn't look quite so cluttered - its a win-win.
Glad he took a picture of everyone.

Blue and Gold

This year was our first Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts.  I think it is fair to say Evan loved it.
This was his collection of Beyblades he displayed.
They all had to make a cake too.
He went with a pinewood derby theme, and made the cars out of cupcakes and girl scout cookies.
It was a big night for Evan.  He got 3 arrows, and five belt loops, Photography, Pet Care, Computers, Basketball, and Skateboarding.  He was very excited with all of his new awards.  I am loving that he is so in to Cub Scouts right now.  Hopefully that lasts and we end up with an Eagle Scout.
