Happy Halloween

Evan trick-or-treated to half of our development before I decided it was cold and he had plenty of candy. We came back in and he stripped down so he could check out his loot. This was his under the costume outfit. When we got back I dressed Kyle so I could go show the neighbors, hence he is in costume and Evan is not.
Daddy and Evan got all of the candy sorted and made sure it was all safe. If you look close you see someone was handing out granola bars.

Kyle finally learned to roll over yesterday, with a little incentive. He actually learned to roll over in the afternoon and then demonstrated again so he could get into the candy. Evan was not such a fan of this so we moved Kyle who managed to make off with a bag of M&M's.

Tractor Twins

Kyle was pouting that he didn't get to go on a tractor ride. That or scared that I let Evan push the stroller.

New Toys

I fell in love with this toy last year, but of course they were already sold out. This year I bought it as soon as they sent me the email saying it was available (how cool am I that I look forward to the Fisher-Price emails). It is the totally cute shepherd's and nativity set. I love it!

We also just bought a new camera, the Kodak Z812 IS. We are still learning what it can do and how to use it, but here are two fun pictures we took with it. So far, we love it too! We did learn how to take candle light pictures that turned out really well with our pumpkins (see pumpkin carving post).
Doesn't he look sweet and angelic. I thought I better take a picture so I could remember that the next time he was running around screaming for no apparent reason.

Pumpkin Carving

Becca's nervous pumpkin. In the photo we found that gave us this idea he was smoking, but we taught him a lesson on the Word of Wisdom and he quit cold turkey.
Evan's scary pumpkin. He picked out this design himself by saying he wanted all triangles. Triangle eyes, triangle nose, and triangle teeth. We may have found a favorite shape.
Kyle's sweet innocent pumpkin. He hasn't seen it yet since apparently pumpkin carving bored him to sleep, but I'm sure he'll love it.

More Random Photos

The boys just got new twinner pajamas. Evan loves to dress up like Kyle so these jammies will probably get worn a lot.
Our baby is fat! Believe it or not that chunk is not in the 100th percentile, but he looks it. He was 17 pounds and 26 inches at his 4 month check up.
Evan was trying to watch a show with Kyle, but I guess it wasn't that interesting of a show. I love that he is clutching his burp rag, just in case.
Evan's new friends, the Scarecrow family. I'm not sure if they will survive to see another Halloween with all of the ring-around-the-rosie they play, but we'll see. You can't see real well, but Evan's face is healing up pretty well from the treadmill incident.

Random Photos

My dad made us a new coffee table for our living room. Little did he know that it would double as a bed. Evan fits perfect.
Can you tell they are best buds? Kyle gets so excited when Evan wakes up in the morning and loves when Evan holds him. I'm not sure why, because most of the time it looks like he should be in pain, but he always seems to smile and laugh.
I know I'm holding his arm in this photo, but he can sit up all by himself now. We still have the occasional face plant, but he is doing really well. Now if only he could roll over.
I just really like this one. I think he too may look more like his mom than his dad. He does have Brandon's dark hair.
Enjoying his new toy. He loves this thing. He will play in it for 45 minutes or so every morning and stay perfectly happy.

Pennsylvania and DC

Becca was asked to be a brides maid at her college roommates wedding in Pennsylvania so we all went. While there, we decided to visit our nations capital. Kinda weird: when people ask where you are from on the east coast and you respond, "Washington" everybody assumes you mean DC. Anyway, we got there in the afternoon and set out on foot to see a few of the Smithsonian museums. I wondered if most people know the significance of the Nauvoo Sunstone when they see it.
Evan really liked all the airplanes at the Air and Space museum. He was running non stop. In the photo above, he's looking at an airplane suspended from the ceiling.
After about 2 miles of walking Evan found the highlight of our little excursion. This small water feature next to the Washington Memorial provided a refreshing diversion for Evan. In a matter of seconds he was soaked. Sadly we still had to walk about a mile to get back to our hotel. About two blocks to go, he sat down on the side walk and could go no further. So daddy got a little wet too as he carried his sopping wet son. Evan was quite the trooper. He slept well that night.
We took a little stroll at Arlington Cemetery. We hardly saw even an 1/8th of it's entirety. It was humbling to look at the names of people that served the country. Question: If you take a picture at a cemetery, should you smile? I was unsure.
Our hotel was right across the street from the Department of Education building and all their entrances look like this. We couldn't resist the photo op.
