The day after we got back from Disneyland Grace and Evan decided to watch Mary Poppins. The dancing scene got Grace dancing on the couch, which she then fell off of, and we ended up in the ER. Grace wouldn't move her left arm at all and was obviously in a ton of pain, so it was lucky that she slept for most of our wait time.
Unfortunately she was in so much pain that she refused to get up to go to the bathroom, instead going all over Brandon in triage. Then, with Brandon using a towel over his shorts, she was in so much pain in x-ray while the positioned her arm, she puked everywhere. Thanks to the hospital for the loaner scrubs.
Poor Grace was happy and fine, then sobbing and miserable within minutes.
We scored and instead of a 7 day wait to be scene by the orthopedist they saw us in two days. Here she is waiting for her cast.
Very curious about the casting process.
We were very impressed by how patient she was through the casting. Not what I expected from our 3 year old.
So excited with her new pink cast.
14 days later, waiting to get re-xrayed.
Trying to move her stiff arm again. We will probably never know if she really fractured her elbow. They saw a lot of fluid around it, it was swollen, and she couldn't move it, which is normal in a fracture, but they could never see the fracture on x-ray. Luckily for us 2 weeks in the cast seems to have done the trick and we are now back to our cast free, very energetic Grace. Hopefully she is done dancing on the couch though.

I would ban Peter Pan from the house as well as Mary Poppins! We don't want her thinking she can fly! That girl was a trooper though!
Oh my goodness - I hope we never have that experience at our house, but glad it turned out okay in the end.
so sad..
poor girl!
