Kyle-isms

Another funny Kyle quote.
I went to change Kyle's diaper and upon opening it I said "Holy Cow." Kyle immediately responded in a very serious tone "I am not a cow."
I couldn't help but laugh.

Things to Remember

Just a few things the kids have said lately. First up, Evan. He is learning to read and likes spelling things, or at least attempting to. He was trying to spell my parents' dog's name, Leo. He asked if it started with a Y. We corrected him and said it was L-E-O. He responded in total shock "his name is Leo, not Yeo." All this time we thought he couldn't say his L's very well, but in reality he thought the dog's name really was Yeo. He says it right now.
Second we have Kyle, who tonight did a nose dive off the top bunk. Luckily only a slight bloody nose and skinned cheek to show for it. Anyway, he was asking me about the new house and going over what would be in it. We talked about he and Evan's room, the toy room, the kid bathroom, and then I mentioned that we would have a piano room. He paused and said "that would be nice" totally straight faced sounding just like an adult.Last up, Grace. She hasn't said anything funny, although the boys think her spit bubbles are hilarious. She had her 6 month check up today (2.5 weeks late) and the official stats were 20 lbs 1.4 oz, 29 inches, and 46.5 cm head circumference. Officially off the charts.(Yes, we torment our poor baby girl)

Update On Us

I know, long break in blogging. We've been sick (again) and I wasn't really taking pictures. So, here's the latest. We had colds for 2 weeks and couldn't leave the house. Then we got better for a few days, then we got pink eye and tonsillitis and Grace ended up with her first ear infection. Now we are pretty much all better. Lets hope it lasts this time.
With all of the sicknesses our sleep schedule has been really off. This is Grace and Kyle up at about 11pm one night.Sick but still very happy. I love the toothless grin.
We never thought we'd have a blue eyed baby, but it looks like Grace might just be. That gives us 3 different color schemes with hair and eyes for our kids.
Another fancy dress for Grace. Note her princess wand to control the house just a little more.
In big news, Grace finally learned to roll. She went from not rolling at all, to rolling front to back and back to front in both directions in one day. Luckily it was the day before her therapy appointment, and with that news and the fact that she is sitting up now, it looks like we will be done with therapy the end of this month. Yeah!!!
In other big news, after being locked in the house for 2 weeks with sick kids Brandon and I started doing some research. In one day we changed our plans for Brandon's future schooling and decided to put our house up for sale and buy a new, bigger one. So our house is now on the market and we have already put an offer in on a new one. It is one we will need to build, so it looks like we will be living with my parents for a while, but we are very excited to get some more space.

6 Months

What a difference 6 months makes! This is Grace the day we brought her home from the hospital.

This is Grace today, officially 6 months old. She doesn't use this carseat anymore because her feet hang over the end of it, but it is still out so I thought I would take a comparison picture. She looks huge!

Happy Valentine's Day

Since the kids were sick this week Brandon and I didn't know if we would be able to go out for Valentine's Day. Last night we decided they were well enough and all 5 of us went out for a romantic dinner at Applebee's followed by a trip to Target where the kids all got something and we got fabric softener. Die hard romantics we are. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures, but I did take some today.
For breakfast we stepped it up this year and made heart shaped pancakes. The boys thought they were fabulous.

Grace got to sport a new dress to church that just shouted Valentine's Day to me. We actually bought it a few months ago and she just happens to be growing into this size (12 month) right now.
After church I decided to dress her up in some more new clothes. This is the softest coat ever.
Underneath the coat. The pants are a little long but they will probably shrink.
To finish up our Valentine's Day a little snuggling with my girl. All in all it was a good day, even if we did celebrate with our munchkins.

I Was Wrong

Two out of three kids were getting better, one was not. Kyle was up a lot last night coughing, and for the 4th day in a row pretty much refusing to eat or drink anything. I took him to the doctor and the poor kid has a double ear infection and probably tonstillitis although they decided not to gag him to check since he already needed meds for the ears. He was crying while he coughed saying he just wanted to sleep so the doctor was nice and gave us some cough medicine with codeine. Not such a fan taking it, but he has been out for a much needed 3 hours now. Hopefully now we are for real getting better.

We're Still Here

We've been sick, hence no posting, but I think we are on the mend. After 3 days of barely moving the boys were up and playing today. I think this is their impersonation of Grace.
That face is part of why her shirt looks like this. Sticking your tongue out constantly leads to a lot of wet shirts. Well that and puking all over your shirt.
